Remembering Buddy
By John Goldrosen and John Beecher

Remembering Buddy

Remembering Buddy (Da Capo Press, 204 pp./trade paper) is a definitive biography of the legendary singer and composer. Written by John Goldrosen and John Beecher, two long-time Holly students, the book traces Buddy's life from his west Texas youth to his death in a plane crash in 1959, at 22, while on a winter rock and roll tour in Iowa.

Written in a clear style, the book covers Holly's early career in Texas with the Crickets, a group formed of his high school friends, to Holly's days in New York's Greenwich Village as a solo singer who experimented with sounds that expanded the boundaries of the young rock and roll revolution.

Many of the songs that Holly (and the Crickets) wrote or made famous are now part of rock history:  Peggy Sue, Rave On, That'll Be The Day, All Right, True Love Ways.

Remembering Buddy is richly illustrated with photos and contains a definitive discography. The book is available from American Legends at a 25% discount (off the $18.95 publisher's list price) for only $14.20 ($15.25 Calif. residents). Please add $2.50 for postage and handling.
