US Army Air Force pilot Howard Pitts flew over sixty B24 bombing missions with his crew over Germany in WWII. Because of desperate German air defenses, sometimes two out of three aircraft did not return to their bases in Italy in 1944 and 1945. Howard Pitts is the last survivor of that heroic crew. Here, he recalls his experiences in an exclusive interview with American Legends conducted by his nephew, Martin Pitts, a co-founder of American Legends and MTV video pioneer.
